So I had a couple things I've been thinking about lately... I'll probably go about this through a somewhat rambling on type state but anyways, here I go. I am probably sure that everything we do or say on the internet is now monitored closely by our own government these days and certain key words are probably being filtered and filed and separated into sections classifying us into the "types" of "Americans" we are. I think that's completely fine, I mean invasion of privacy isn't the worst thing that's happened to us... is it?
Well there are a couple of things I could come up with on the top of my head... but the again after all the stuff that comes up from the top of my head a whole shit load of other ideas start popping up and it never seems to end... But anyways, hmm... things that could possibly be worse than our invasion of privacy... well... now that I think of it there really isn't much except for rape but then again if it is rape, that would still be an invasion of privacy. I guess what I'm getting at is that the question is not about what could be worse than the invasion of our privacy, but who is doing the invading.
See the way I see it, rape can somewhat be measured in degrees... the fact that I myself have never been raped... I guess I really am in no position of saying what I think but in any case humor me. Ok say there were different degrees or levels of rape rather. Those levels are categorized types of rape or well who rapes you.
1. "Direct Relation" - Is probably the most traumatic and hurtful level. This would mean that you were being raped by someone who was directly related to you either through blood relation or someone who you deeply trusted, a person you were very close to.
2. "Side Relation" - is being raped by someone who is related to someone you are very close to or possibly related to. For and example you're at a party, you're cousin brings a friend, you meet that friend and it's all good you get to know each other but it's still only an acquaintance. Later you are raped by the person whom your cousin or close relative had brought.
3. "Stranger Relation" - is the most indirect relationship between the victim and the aggressor. This is when the victim is raped by someone who they do not know and know nothing of.
Now that we've covered these degrees we can basically apply them to the bigger picture. I want to explain to you that in this instance and in future instances, the way I use the word "Rape" may not always be in the conventional textbook definition type of way you're used to. The way I will be using the word rape; probably for most if not the rest of the piece; indicates that someone is being taken advantage of against their will which is similarly close to the dictionary definition but more over is about someone being "fucked" as in someone being in a position or predicament where they are in no place able to change their circumstance.
Now back to the main story, I have thought long and hard about what our government does to and for us. They basically in the most ignorant sense, spy on us. I do believe it is in our best interests to protect us from ourselves. The government provides us this service and does it almost against our will but it does seem necessary. We as a culture are a paranoid people, if that statement even makes sense. We are constantly bombarded with thoughts of terrorism and war and some kind of threat, maybe even disease. Whatever the case may be, were always being "attacked." We are a paranoid people and I feel that for us Americans, it provides us with some what of a beautiful defense mechanism. When you paranoid your whole lifetime, you either become two things, insane or very well prepared. I of course would like to think that the latter happens and I believe that is the case with America.
America is beautiful, you want to know why? Because it does all the things that no one else wants to do without you having to know the details about it. I feel that America has so much going on politically, internationally, economically, environmentally, the average American maybe actually knows 15%-20% of it all. On top of that I'd have to say that out of the whole American population maybe 10% actually do anything about it. I know that seems like a cynical way of looking at things but I'm doing my best to be a realist without statistical evidence. Anyways onward!
America has done so much for its' citizens that we have no idea, we cannot even conceptualize the depth of their effort to protect us. I know I sound uber patriotic right now but I feel like all these little secrets your hear about today, so called "government secrets" or the "secret government" or whatever you want to call it all these things America does under the table some how solidifies the continuation of what we call the American Dream.
What is the American Dream? Well to simply put it, you basically have the power to do whatever the hell you want. What other country can do you the things you do in America that you can do anywhere else? No where really.
So yeah, all these backdoor dealings and secret wars are done basically so that you and everyone else that lives on your street, in your city, in your state, in your regional division, in your country can sleep safely and soundly but more importantly, comfortably.
Now what was the question again?
Oh yeah, "Homeland Security Rape?"
(By the way, Yes I know that's not a complete question)
So basically I at the point of the essay where I'm running out of gas, It comes down to this, "Who do you want to be raped by?" Most people would say, "AHHH! Rape? NO! Not me please! No I don't want to be raped!" Well let's just say you'd have to choose and when I say choose that means choosing between the 3 choices in way to go about it. Recall the degrees of rape, 1. Direct Relation, 2. Side Relation, and 3. Stranger Relation.
1. Direct Relation - Take it this way, I believe it's the easiest. America will rape you. Simple enough since you basically see this happen to you everyday of your life, taxes, bills, laws and rules. Blah Blah Blah America America America.
2. Side Relation - Some other country rapes you, say we get invaded or terrorists take over the internet, you are compromised and it's done by someone known to you but you have no relation to that party.
3. Stranger Relation - You are completely blind sided and you have no idea who's taking advantage of you.
Of these choices, I feel that Direct Relation would be the most selected choice. As much as our government rapes us, we can't deny the fact that they do pretty good by us. Just imagine giving another country complete control over us. It would be insanity. We wouldn't even be able to begin to completely assimilate to their culture or thoughts or beliefs and their way of lifestyle. It would seem so alien to us, lots of hardships that we had never had before. I would much rather be raped by someone I know and that I understand rather than someone blind sighting me or of being an acquaintance. America does what it does because they want to keep our way of life, well... our way of life. They maintain and build and maintain, a cycle we've become proficient at and our paranoia as a nation only helps. We are the most prepared, the most capable, the most emotional, the most brilliant and resilient, the most talented nation there is.
I guess what my main point is is that America rapes us better than anybody else can and we should thank them for it.
